G5G product line is delivered by default on CD rom , but the following media are available on request :
cartridge tape
QIC 150, QIC 60
DDS
floppy disk
3 1/2"
The format of the command to read the tape is written on the label.
Usually for UNIX the command is tar
tar <options> devicename
Installing G5G products do not require any system privilege.
Steps :
- 1 Go to the directory where you want to install OPGS
- 2 Get the shell script on device
tar wxf devicename
where devicename is your tape device name, such as /dev/rst0
- 3 You got the following messages :
x install_OPGS: y (answer yes to get this file)
x OPGS/: ^C (interrupt the tar command)
- 4 Run the shell script :
./install_OPGS devicename
OPGS is installed by default. You can choose a custom installation without contrib and demos for example. To use a library you must get a licence key ( see chapter 4 Licensing )
