5.4.4. PROMPT ECHO TYPE (PET)

The prompt echo type describes both the prompt which informs the user that the device is available and the echo which informs the user of the measure state. An input device has at least one prompt echo type (type 1), depending on the workstation.

The functions provided to control the input device mode, SET <input class> MODE, thus control whether the echo is ON or OFF. Also, GPHIGS sends an acknowledgement when a trigger is correctly fired.
