An input device is an abstract concept representing one or more physical input devices present on the workstation and with similar general and input characteristics. This chapter describes the input concept defined by PHIGURE. The physical input devices and their parameters are workstation dependent and so are described in the second part of this document.
A workstation must be of the INPUT or OUTIN category and must be open before an input device can be used.
