8.8. FORMATS

• - RLE (Run Length Encoded) is a device-independent format for images developed at the University of Utah. It is well suited to rasterized images. GPHIGS supports both colour indexed RLE and 24 bits RGB drivers.
• - EPSON is a format compatible with 8-pin Epson printers.
• - TEKTRONIX 4692 is a format compatible with Tektronix printers using 7- or 8-bit mode.
• - HP PaintJet is a format compatible with the HP PaintJet family of printer
• - HP LaserJet is a format compatible with the HP LaserJet family of printer. It is compatible with the low level PCL language.
