North America Onshore Basins

The Lower 48 remains home to the world’s most active and prolific unconventional plays, spanning every major producing basin. TGS seismic libraries equip customers with subsurface intelligence and provide the inputs needed to drive better drilling decisions.

De-Risk Stacked Pay Exploration Across North American Onshore

TGS offers more than 30,000 square miles of modern 3D seismic data across the most active onshore oil and gas plays in North America, spanning the Permian, Anadarko, and Appalachian basins in the U.S. and the Duvernay and Montney in Canada, with active expansion into the Uinta and Rocky Mountain basins. TGS delivers high resolution subsurface intelligence to operators and explorers working the unconventionals space.

Pontiac 3D is TGS’ newest high-resolution seismic acquisition in the Permian Basin, built for horizontal development of the Spraberry and Wolfcamp and emerging deeper Barnett and Devonian plays. Multi-Parameter FWI and DeepInvert™ imaging sharpen reservoir characterization along the Midland Basin and Central Basin Platform margin.

TGS-DawsonIII3D-seismic

Western Canada’s Montney and Duvernay liquids plays keep onshore activity vibrant, with operators focused on optimizing development drilling. TGS provides curated well data, production analytics and targeted land seismic across these key plays. The recent Dawson III 3D adds modern imaging, processed with Phase and AVO-compliant workflows, to the heart of the Montney.

One Accountable Partner

One Accountable Partner

TGS manages every phase and every vendor. You don’t have to coordinate permitting, field crews, data management and processing teams yourself.

Faster, Lower-Risk Execution

Faster, Lower-Risk Execution

Integrated planning and a single workflow reduce handoff delays, permitting and compliance surprises, and schedule risk.

Data Quality and Value

Data Quality and Value

We design acquisition and processing together and draw on TGS’s regional data and imaging expertise. The final product is built for your objectives. Turnkey costs are provided up front, which reduces your exposure.

Better Imaging: DM FWI and Pore Pressure Modeling

To accurately image novel targets within onshore seismic surveys, TGS uses Dynamic Matching FWI (DM-FWI) workflows to produce high-resolution velocity models. In the Permian, where several dissolution zones are present, near-surface characterization is essential to high-end imaging at depth.

With an ongoing focus on operational efficiency, TGS has introduced vertical effective stress and lithology inversion derivatives as a tool to identify optimal landing zones and drilling hazards. These volumes help engineers quickly pinpoint overpressured benches and carbonate rafts, increasing yields and improving drilling efficiency.
