Summary
The deepwater setting of the Dahomey Embayment remains a frontier province. A look at the basin architecture and Cretaceous play fairway seeks to reveal the hydrocarbon potential of the deepwater environment by evaluating basin architecture and its influence on sediment distribution, reservoir quality, and source rocks presence and maturity. Two main basin architectures have been discussed and show that the deepwater environment holds high potential for hydrocarbon prospectivity.
