Offshore Canada

Comprehensive subsurface data for your exploration needs

Offshore Canada

The oil and gas industry is experiencing ever increasing pressure to reduce risk, time, and costs of operations. Access to seismic surveys, standardized well data, and detailed interpretations are crucial to companies to allow them to fast-track basin evaluation for bid round analysis, as well as provide the regional “big picture” to support asset-focused teams. TGS’ comprehensive collection of subsurface data and interpretation products library in East Canada is an invaluable resource.

TGS has been active in this region since 1998 and follows the regional market trends and business environments when seeking out new opportunities for investment. The TGS exploration programs are most often built around specific provincial licensing rounds and are designed to provide regional geological understanding. A typical set of integrated products would include regional 2D seismic, basin wide 3D seismic, gravity, magnetics, well data packages, regional multibeam, geochemical analysis, and varied interpretive products using all datasets available. TGS has been in a joint venture agreement with PGS for surveys acquired since 2011.

Our Data

Reprocessing

Imagining and data processing technology typically develops at a much faster pace than acquisition technology, driven by advances in compute power.  With its extensive library and intimate knowledge of the regional geology, TGS has led the industry in multi-client reprocessing of seismic data in the GOM.  TGS is currently applying a combination of technologies including Dynamic Matching FWI to improve the velocity and salt model, and increase the frequency content in data.  This reprocessing has strong support from many exploration and production companies and is targeting the Mesozoic level, including the highly prolific Norphlet play, as well as shallower horizons.

Well Data Products

Our solution gives geoscientists the subsurface depth and breadth of knowledge to understand drilling risks, reduce uncertainty, and improve well performance. Fast and easy access to TGS' vast library of well data is available through the R360, our unique subsurface intelligence portal.
