TGS provides industry-leading seismic data using an innovative mix of technologies and unmatched imaging capabilities. Through strategic partnerships, we offer a comprehensive collection of advanced acquisition technologies for enhanced reservoir delineation, characterization and monitoring.

TGS has been active in Canada since 1998 and follows the regional market trends and business environments when seeking out new opportunities for investment. Initially TGS (formally Arcis) was focused Onshore in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, then in 2011 TGS began expanding its Canadian offerings to include significant 2D and 3D data in Eastern Canadas offshore basins.

TGS has acquired seismic data in the northern Gulf of Mexico since the early 1980’s. Beginning with historic large-scale 2D and interpretation programs that promoted regional exploration and continuing to the modern Multiple Azimuth 3D surveys that have begun to clearly image salt features and pre-salt sediments. TGS entered the US Onshore market in 2011 and has since established itself as one of the premier Onshore seismic data providers with high quality, high resolution 3D data in several key basins.

TGS Announces Next Phase of Ultra-long Offset Node Projects in U.S. Gulf of Mexico

Following the highly successful Amendment Phase 1 project acquired in Mississippi Canyon in 2019, TGS, in strategic collaboration with Schlumberger, announced the second phase of their ultra-long offset node project in U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The next phase will extend the footprint of ultra-long offset data to the Northern Green Canyon protraction area and will be called “Engagement”.  This area is characterized by complex geology and multiple salt bodies, driving industry towards a new approach to illuminate the subsurface structures.  The combination of ocean bottom node data, used to record ultra-long of...

TGS Announces Declaration Refocus, a Next Generation Imaging Program in the U.S. GOM

TGS announced today the Declaration Refocus next generation M-WAZ imaging program in Mississippi Canyon in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The new, high-end re-imaging workflow is designed to provide enhanced imaging and greater illumination of prospectivity in the area. The program comprises data covering more than 380 Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) blocks (~8,860 km2) from orthogonal 3D WAZ programs previously acquired by TGS using WesternGeco Q-Marine and CGG StagSeis seismic systems between 2010 and 2015.  Full product delivery of Declaration Refocus is expected at the end of 2020, wh...
