OSLO, Norway (12 January 2026) – TGS, a global leader in energy data and intelligence, announces the opening of a new Imaging Center in Kuala Lumpur. The new center aims to enhance TGS’ ability to serve local customers and support TGS Multi-Client projects throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
The Kuala Lumpur Imaging Center builds on the successful launch and operation of TGS’ Advanced Capabilities Centers for Petrobras in Brazil, where the company has demonstrated how local geoscientists, supported by global experts, can accelerate project delivery and improve customer outcomes in complex offshore environments. Together, these investments reflect TGS’ commitment and ability to support its customers through reliable imaging delivery across multiple markets.
Wadii El Karkouri, Executive Vice President of Imaging & Technology at TGS, commented: “This expansion reflects a significant milestone in strengthening our presence across the Eastern Hemisphere and our commitment to delivering world-class imaging services closer to our customers. By combining local presence with global expertise, we are well-positioned to support increasingly complex imaging challenges across Asia-Pacific.”
During its first year of operation, the Kuala Lumpur Imaging Center will be supported by TGS’ established imaging teams, ensuring knowledge transfer, technical alignment, and operational excellence. The center will leverage cloud-based infrastructure hosted in Malaysia to support efficient, secure, and compliant data processing workflows.
