2023-2024 Shallow Water Bid Round
Staatsolie Hydrocarbon Institute N.V. (SHI) initiated a competitive bidding round for eleven new offshore blocks in Suriname, continuing the hydrocarbon exploration momentum there. The Bid Round launched on November 7 and closes on May 31, 2024. In a significant breakthrough, a consortium comprising TGS, BGP and CGG has successfully acquired and reprocessed ~13,500 sq. km of seismic data in Suriname's shallow water region, resulting in a best-in-class Pre-Stack Depth Migration (PSDM) product now available for licensing.
