Why Bangladesh?

The Bengal Fan, offshore Bangladesh, is considered one of the most extensive unexplored frontier basins with one of the world's largest deep-water fans and significant evidence of working petroleum systems. With a recently revised Production Sharing Contract (PSC) and the first license round in 12 years, this region provides substantial oil and gas exploration opportunities.

Since the discovery of the Shwe Field in 2004, several large gas accumulations have been found in the Bengal Fan. Both biogenic and thermogenic systems have been proven, and extensive reservoir potential exists in the shelf, slope and upper fan deep-water systems. Numerous untested plays are evident, including huge deep-marine fan systems.
